I’ve would like to implement some improved photo features on our site. A few changes will need to take place, namely changing the focus of photos away from album specific photos to user specific, and then adding the ability to tag photos easily. Tagging photos would allow you to identify friends or groups or events easily by clicking on a photo (or a section of a photo) and selecting or entering a tag that connects that photo to the person, group or event.
Here is an example of how it could work:

Our forums have a lot of features that many members don’t know about. Did you know, for example, you can easily check in on all of the posts made or updated since the last time you visited the site? Or that you can track a specific topic or forum and get an email sent automatically every time someone posts? What if you wanted to to see all of the posts you’ve made in a community or you want to contact another member but don’t want to post a message publicly?
Here are a few of the major features available in our community forums. This information assumes you already have a BikeClicks account, know how to log into the site and can create a post on any of our communities.

A number of the communities on BikeClicks.com are setup for teams only. They are private communities that allow team members to communicate about their own super secret team stuff (like how they are going to win the Tour de France this year, or maybe something a little less ambitious like where the training ride is going to leave from on Saturday.
In either case, if your team has a community setup on BikeClicks.com then this post explains how to access it for the first time. We’ll start with registering your account on BikeClicks.com. Now, if you already have a BikeClicks account then you can skip ahead to step two. Also, you can click on the images which illustrate in more detail how to register and subscribe.
Step One: Register on BikeClicks.com
To register an account either click on the “Register” link on the top of any BikeClicks.com page, or go straight to...

Sheesh! I thought I would never get this blog going. You see, I am trying to use Windows Live Writer and it took more than a few twists and turns to get here. Many thanks to Webguy for getting me straight.
I have some specific thoughts of what this blog will be primarily about, but that’s for a later date. Just glad to get it all working.
Since no blog would be complete without a picture, here’s one from my stash from a 2007 trip to Idaho:

Today I loaded up for a short ride at Waverly. I have been riding the trainer so my stuff is scattered, shoes and hr monitor/gps downstairs, cold weather clothes in the laundry room, etc. I got everything (so I thought) together and headed out. As I pulled into the park I stopped at the top of the hill and got out to inspect the trail everything was good to go so I decided to hit it. I parked, got out and started gearing up and noticed that I didn’t have a helmet. I had a decision to make, miss out on the ride or just go and take it easy and pray not to crack my skull. Clearly, I took the 2nd option and decided to make it a little more than just a slow ride. I decided to not let myself get faster than around 10 mph any place I wasn’t completely under my own power, down hills, etc. This effectively killed any momentum and made me climb everything from essentially a dead stop, it was a hard ride but a fun one (believe it or not) I rode the race loop backwards and had a pretty good time.
One thing...

Wow, with my first road race of the year on March 1st and my last cross race over yesterday it’s been a long ass year. 29 races (that can remember) two seasons and a lot of fun along the way. I’m excited about taking a short break and pressing the big reset button for next season. It was a good year for me and a great year for the team. I’m also excited to have some time to implement some new features on BikeClicks.com that have been in the works. Next season looks like a great one too, stepping it up on the road with the BikeClicks.com/Team Louisville CAT 3 squad, some great new stuff happening with the website and what I hope will be another fun season of cross. Now – time to eat some junk food and watch TV for a few days and go for slow mountain bikes ride with my kids.

This year’s ‘Storm the Greens’ Cyclocross race lived up to it’s reputation as a mud fest yet again. WebGirl and I pre-rode the course on Saturday afternoon while things were still dry and predictable. The Calistoga Team did a nice job of combining the “normal” course with some elements left over from the USGP' Derby City Cup along with some new elements just to keep it interesting. The course is a familiar one to us as it’s held a Champions Park (the old River Road Country Club) in Louisville which is the weekly CX practice course for us locals. It’s mostly...

This weekend we went to Eastern KY to see the parents and on the way we stopped at Cave Run so I could have a ride. My wife and I have a pretty good compromise on riding trips at Cave Run, she drops me off and then gets to drive into town to eat at Melini’s (her favorite local restaurant) before coming to pick me up. We pulled into the Visitor’s Center (Centered in the map below) about 3:00, by the time I got changed and ready to roll it was 3:30 and I knew I would be racing the sun to get out of the woods.

After entering across the road from the Visitor’s Center, the ride starts off...
